Shaking it up at the re-launch of bluesouth

On Thursday evening I was invited to the launch of Shake Interactive South Africa. I would like to thank MANGO-OMC, Shake South African’s PR agency, for inviting me. Only three bloggers were chosen to cover this event. I am sure Max and Rafiq will agree with me, that this was a very exciting event indeed.

The company, bluesouth, announced that it has rebranded itself as Shake Interactive South Africa. This full service digital marketing agency has positioned itself as a specialist in both online and mobile marketing globally. Shake has not only expanded in South Africa but has also opened an office in New York.

Edinburgh-based Shake Interactive and bluesouth had merged in 2006 to form an international digital agency, but with rapid growth the time had come to consolidate all operations under one brand. They have a truly impressive client list. Clients include Media 24, Associated Northcliffe Digital, Pigg’s Peak casino, Hewlett-Packard, Nissan South Africa, Jaguar and Land Rover.

Shake’s international connections and experience, access to leading technologies, campaigns and practices and a world-class team right here is South Africa, has enabled them to offer clients a full portfolio of search marketing, web development and mobile marketing services.

Daniel Aufrichtig, CEO of Shake Interactive South Africa and James Olivier, CEO of the Shake Interactive Group head up this potent team. It was interesting to see that all production takes place from their South African office. I am particularly thrilled to see that international, specialized skills are being brought into South Africa.

The most exciting news for the evening was the fact that Shake has acquired Mybeat Interactive, positioning Shake as the mobile leader in South Africa. Considering that Shake Interactive is the 8th biggest player in the mobile space in the UK, they are definitely shaking up the mobile market!

I look forward seeing this innovative team position itself as a centre of digital and mobile excellence not only in South Africa but globally.
